$Happy holidays folks. Hard to believe that this time is upon us already. As it relates to the festive theme, I must admit I've been naughty. I have been lax on posting "The Torrent Sessions" instrumentals month by month. So, click here to get a zip file of all 8 of them.

Also, Sean Garrity's new film "Zooey and Adam" which features "Surrounded" has been challenging audiences this fall across Canadian wide film festivals. It looks to be coming to Winnipeg January 29th-Feb 4th at the Cinematheque. Go check it out.

Lastly, I hope to release another record Sept 2010. I just started on it but I'm in love with it already. I hope it turns out the way I want. It will likely be a much simpler affair than the last two albums and will wrap up all the songs I've had in the vault that I wanted to release.

This fast growing holiday promises untold special(s) and an in-store acoustic performance by Hinkson around 5:00pm.

For more info. on Planet of Sound, head to this group and join: Planet of Sound. Hinkson hopes this will allow the listener (pun intended) to hear tracks from the album in a different light and enjoy the production without the vocals as well. CONTAMINATION DAY will be the first song posted for an extra duration and will be available until June 1st. Check in at the first of each month for a new tune until Dec 31st, 2009.

Check out what Stylus Magazine had to say about THE TORRENT SESSIONS in the "Press" section.

$Power 97 has charted “CONTAMINATION DAY” as #61 of the Top 97 songs of 2008. A very nice gesture indeed that saw Hinkson rise as the cream of the Class of 2008 crop. Hinkson appreciates the support Power 97, and stations like her, have given in 2008. Their efforts are not lost on this kid. Here’s a link detailing how other songs settled out for 2008:
Power 97 Top 97 of 2008

Scott’s 2nd second song off THE TORRENT SESSIONS, a thumping rocker entitled “A SECOND HOME” has been nominated by Hot 103 as one of the 10 Manitoban finalists for the CANADIAN RADIO STAR: National Songwriting Competition. The Manitoban winner competes against other artists from across Canada for prizes and prestige.

Here's the catch. Hinkson really needs your help. Vote for “A SECOND HOME” beginning this FRI. JAN 9TH online until SUN. JAN 11TH evening. HOT 103 will be announcing the winner TUE. JAN 13TH on the Ace Burpee and Chrissy Troy Show. Follow the links to vote here and thank you in advance for your support Vote Here

A SECOND HOME is also the front-runner for the next single to be released shortly.

Just wanted to wish everyone a sincere thank you that made the effort to attend the charity show on December 13th on support of the Winnipeg’s Christmas Cheer Board and United Way’s Koat’s Kids.
